Cathy Key, Ph.D. grew up in England and has been living and working in Canada for the past 20 years. She is a 2024 Gold List Award recipient  from Art Market magazine and winner of the 2023 Peoples Choice Award from the Sooke Fine Art Show. 

Inspired by the great naturalists of the 19th century she creates large, multi-layered works using a collage of botanical illustrations, metallic elements, acrylic paint, inks and glazes.

Cathy has a PhD in Anthropology and over 30 years experience with yoga and ecstatic dance. She uses her own self-enquiry as the emotional impetus for her work and her paintings express the joy, vulnerability and wonder of being a conscious participant in our natural world.
